Following some anatomy coursework, I was looking for a project to act as a case study. Taking inspiration from my partner’s style and some references from around our apartment, I took to sculpting a multifunctional bust that I can transform over time.

The project really stretched my knowledge of anatomy and sculpting organic forms, namely how to create believable black hair/afros. Despite the week of hair-related trial and error, the final piece successfully blended elements from personal inspiration and opened up the possibility for further exploration of the human form.
