For this project, I set to create a product that can offer a clean way to display trading cards using regular toploaders. The design would allow for multiple materials and colors to be used to add a unique touch to each card. I began by researching what products exist already and visual references to use later in the design. Sketches were made within Rhinoceros 3D.

From there, I refined the idea and decided to go with a two part frame, allowing for easy printing and a way to easily add a color scheme. Once the design was at a good spot I checked for errors, converted the model to a mesh, and started the process of test printing. Iteration played a big role here — I tested and adjusted as needed, ensuring that the final piece was both visually strong and practical.

The end result was a success, resulting in a product that’s both strong and smooth, needing minimal proccessing once printed. Toploaders fit snug enough to stay in place, while not being so tight that it deforms the card inside. I’m looking forward to see how the “Cardsil Case” resonate with others in the hobby.
