This project came to being as an entry for the Bambulabs Makerworld contest “Games of the 90s” For my submission I wanted to create a piece acting as an homage my childhood game, Kirby. Using Kirby Superstar and Kirby 64 as my reference, as well as using what I learned for my “Cloud and Moon” piece, I started the design in Rhinoceros 3D, before moving onto Zbrush for some organic modeling of the clouds.

The final design used Planet Popstar as it’s main center point, and each cloud base is cut to match 4 controller types. The source material also extended to the documentation for the project, following the style of the original SNES manual to show people how to construct this product

Despite not placing in this contest I found the whole process challenging yet satisfying, and I still use my original test print to this day.
